![]() There are more cool elemental powers to talk about, but you get the gist spells are cool. Want to channel your inner Thor and rain lightning down upon your enemies? Want to whip up a deadly tornado to trap your victims? Want to hurl a giant boulder at your opponents? Furthermore, if you're playing as the ice class, Frostborn, you even leave behind a long trail of ice that you can ice skate on to close the distance! Instead of sniping your opponent from across the map with another version of the 50 caliber sniper rifle, you can charge up a magical ice lance, and knock them from existence. Spellbreak "breaks" tradition, by swapping those guns, with six different elemental gauntlets. I can't be the only one that's wanted something a little bit different, right? We've been shooting guns for far too long in online multiplayer. ![]() With this simple change, your combat transitions to the sky, and tense, last-minute knockouts often occur. However, with Spellbreak's many varying runes, and the primary ability to float (levitate), vertical, and horizontal movement, has never felt better in a Battle Royale. Most recently, Ubisoft's, Hyperscape has tried this, and succeeded to some extent. Yes a few other developers have tried to make movement the king of their game. Here are a few reasons that explain why I think Spellbreak, is worth your time: MOVEMENT IS FUN If you're like me, and don't care about the Battle Royale genre, I urge you to at least give this one a try. Spellbreak is a wonderful relief from the onslaught of same-y battle royales that we've all come to expect. Well folks, I'm glad to report that I chose to download it after all. I'm going to assume it was the break from military gunplay to slinging Avatar: The Last Airbender-style attacks, at your opponents. However, something led me to download the new free-to-play wizard royale. I shoved the thought of Spellbreak to the back of my mind, much like I do with any new Battle Royale that's "offering something different." I shrugged off the advertisement and then moved on. ![]() I remember seeing advertisements for Spellbreak a few months ago, and noticed the art style looked eerily similar to Breath of the Wild.
